J&K Government upgrading power facilities at a cost of Rs 821 crore
Jammu and Kashmir Government is spending Rs 821.62 crore for upgradation of power facilities under Rajiv Gandhi Grameen Vidyutikaran Yojana (RGGVY). Under the programme all unelectrified villages and hamlets of the state are being provided electricity facility. So far, it has spent over Rs 500 crore covering 350 villages and hamlets, while 26,313 BPL households had been provided free of cost electric connections under this scheme.
