Union Minister of State for Power, Coal and New and Renewable Energy, Piyush Goyal, has claimed that NTPC will be setting up a 4,000 MW power plant at Puttaparthi in Anantapur district, and a 2,250 MW solar power plant in Andhra Pradesh.
