Orissa allots Rs 2,400 cr for power sector upgradation

The Orissa Secretariat has decided to spend Rs 2,400 crore for the modernisation of power sub stations, setting up of new sub stations, high grade wire to install in the 33/11Kv and setting up of a capacitor bank. The measures are aimed at minimising loss during the distribution and transmission of electricity. A committee comprising secretaries of the finance, revenue, industry and energy departments will supervise the provision of land in Cuttack and Bhubaneswar for setting up sub stations.
