Punjab State Power Corporation (PSPCL) has signed an MoU with Lanco Infratech to set up a 1,320 MW (2 x 660 MW) supercritical technology based thermal plant at Bhatinda. The project is estimated to cost between Rs 5,000-6,000 crore. The plant will cover 1,200 acre and will get water from Phul Distributory of Bhatinda Branch of Sirhind canal. Coal for the plant will be arranged by the developer.
