Power plants qualify for e-auction

Five gas-based power plants belonging to Torrent Power, CLP India and Gujarat Industries Power Co, have qualified for receiving imported gas through the e-auction route. Under the auction scheme, the plants offering best efficiency parameters are eligible for government subsidy through the Power System Development Fund. The winners on the second day of the phase-II e-auctions will get Rs 278 crore of government subsidy for running their plants at 50 per cent plant load factor. The plants have an installed capacity of 3,455.64 MW.
