Likely to be the biggest in the country, Reliance Power plans to set up a 200 MW wind power plant in Maharashtra. The Anil Dhirubhai Ambani Group company will invest Rs 1,500 crore and in the longrun will double the generation. The company placed orders for 80 wind electric generators with a rated capacity of 2.5 MW each. It expects the project to be operational by September 2012. Also the company has entered into a longterm power purchase agreement with group firm Reliance Infrastructure at a tariff of Rs 5.37 per unit, as mooted by the Maharashtra State Electricity Regulatory Commission.
