Reliance Power starts operations at Rajasthan solar plant

Reliance Power started operations at its 100-MW solar energy plant - claimed to be the world´s largest concentrated solar power (CSP) project - built at Rs 2,100 crore in Rajasthan´s Jaisalmer district. The project is the largest investment undertaken by any private sector entity in CSP technology in India. The technology focuses the sun´s heat onto a system of tubes through which water flows. The concentrated sunlight boils the water and generates superheated steam, which is then used for running a power generator.
