SIPCL to infuse Rs 8,000 cr for Orissa power project
Sahara India Power Corporation Ltd (SIPCL) plans to pump in Rs 8,000 crore for its proposed 1,320 MW power project in Bolangir district of Orissa.
The plant requires a 950 acre and the state-owned Industrial Infrastructure Corporation Ltd (IIDCO) has been entrusted the task of land acquisition. The project will be based on supercritical technology with effluents of less than 50 per cent of the limits fixed by the MoEF. The first unit of the plant is expected to go on stream by 2014 and the second unit will be made operational a month later.
