State prohibits pvt hydel plants near KPCL units

The Government of  Karnataka prohibits private sector players to set up mini-hydel projects near the existing hydel plants of State owned Karnataka Power Corporation on security grounds. KPCL is looking at the possibilities of having mini hydel stations near the existing hydel stations.
