State records highest power demand ever

Telangana recorded the highest power demand at 8,849 MW recently. The power utilities met the highest-ever demand without any interruption in supply. The previous highest demand of 6,755 MW was recorded on March 28, 2015.With prolonged hot spell even in October, the winter season witnessed power demand like in summer. The highest power demand recorded on March 28 was 156 mn units. The power utilities supplied 153 mn units, leaving a deficit of around 3 mn units.
