Thermal power plant JV for India- Bangladesh

Bangladesh has suggested setting up of a thermal power plant through a JV in India. The country has proposed that a coal block can be allocated to the JV entity while power generated from the plant can be supplied to Bangladesh.The proposed plant will be on the lines of 1,320 MW thermal project in Rampal (first 660 MW unit is expected to be ready in four years time). It will be jointly developed by NTPC and Bangladesh Power Development Board.
