Vandanaa Power plans 2,400 MW thermal plant

Vandanaa Power Infratech Pvt Ltd plans to set up a 2,400 MW (600MW x 4 units) coalbased power plant near Navalakhi port in the Kutch district, estimated to cost Rs 10,000 crore. The Chhatisgarh-based company signed an MoU during the recently concluded Vibrant Gujarat Global Investors’ Summit 2011. Vandanaa Power has identified about 2,000 acre and will start the construction work after taking the required clearances from the government. It intends to commission the first unit by 2014-15. The plant will use imported coal based on super critical technology.
