10 Smart cities to be planned in West Bengal

West Bengal Government has identified 10 probable areas or townships for developing equal number of smart cities in the state. The areas or townships selected include both existing townships and greenfield ventures, namely New Town ´ Rajarhat (on the fringes of Kolkata), Durgapur, Bolpur, Kalyani, Baruipur, Gangasagar, Debanandapur, Raghunathpur, Phulbari and Jaigaon.
