CIC plans Rs 715 cr sewage treatment plant in Pune

The city improvement committee (CIC) of the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) has approved a Rs 715 crore project to develop five new STPs and augment capacity of five existing ones to ensure 100 per cent treatment of sewage before releasing it into the river. For the project, PMC will have to provide Rs 71 crore as a 10 per cent share. The central government will provide 70 per cent of the funding and the state government, 20 per cent. The project is estimated to be completed within two years.
