Chennai to set up transport authority

With the rapid urbanisation not matching the poor infrastructure and urban planning, the state government has decided to conduct a study on the multi-modal transport integration in Chennai. The state has also decided to set up a state highways authority on the lines of the national highways authority of India (Nhai), a project, which has been caught in legal wrangles over the alignment course between Port and Maduravoyal along river Cooum.
