Enviro Min denies mining permit in Morga-II block

The MoEF has refused to permit GMDC to mine coal in Morga-II coal block on the grounds that the block is in a ‘no-go' area and lacks low emission super critical technology. The ministry complained to the PM's Office that the coal ministry was not considering the alternative Bhalumuda coal block for the power plant being put up by KSK Mahanadhi Power Company in Jhangir Champa in Chattisgarh.Contact: Ministry of Environment and Forests.Website:www.moef.nic.in
