Exide Industries to spend Rs 400 cr in 2010-11

Exide Industries is planning a capital expenditure of Rs 400 crore in 2010-11 in order to increase capacity at various plants. Of the total outlay, Rs 80 crore will be spent on the company's Ahmednagar plant in Maharashtra, which is expected to come up in August 2010. The company intends to increase the capacity of SLI (starting-lighting-ignition) batteries by around 28 per cent. Besides, it aims to enhance capacity in the motor cycle sector by 60 per cent.
