GMR Infrastructure to secure land for SEZ in 4 months

GMR Infrastructure is looking to complete land acquisition for its 3,300 acre special economic zone (SEZ) in four months. The company has so far bought 1,700 acre. GMR had, in August 2007, signed an MoU with Tidco to set up a multi-product SEZ in Krishnagiri, which is connected to National Highway (NH)-7 that runs between Chennai and Bengaluru. The project, with an initial investment of Rs 2,700 crore, was supposed to go on-stream in 2009 and be fully occupied by 2012.
