Goa govt prepares policy to dispose ore dumps

The Goa Government is formulating a new policy that may facilitate export of iron-rich soil or over-burden. The dumps, estimated to be 750 mn tonne are the result of more than 100 iron ore mines, many of which allegedly overproduced or violated environmental norms to cater mostly to the steel industry in China, creating an environmental hazard at home in the process.
