In order to meet its massive urban demand, India will have to build 700-900 mn sq m every year till 2030, reportedly mentioned Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri. About 70 per cent of the urban infrastructure is needed for this size of the urban population and it is yet to be built. <br />

To meet the challenge of providing housing for all, the government aims to build 11 mn affordable homes for urban Indians by 2022, of which over 5 mn are already sanctioned. <br />
