The current low gas production at Reliance Industries Ltd's D6 block in Krishna-Godavari (KG) basin, is likely to continue for at least one more year. Gas production from the block, which started on April 1, 2009, had touched a peak of 60 mn cubic metre a day (mcmd) last year, but has started declining in the past several months due to unexpected changes in the reservoir. The KG-D6 is now producing less than 53 mcmd of gas. In Oct-Dec, the output had averaged around 56 mcmd, while in the first half 2010-11 (Apr-Mar), it was around 58 mcmd.
