ONGC to reach out for Arctic oilfields in Russia
ONGC is reaching out to the largest unallotted hydrocarbon fields in Russia. Its Russian subsidiary, Nord Imperial, will bid for the Trebs and Titov deposits in the Arctic region, where the fields have a recoverable reserve of 200 mn tonne of oil. ONGC made its bid to acquire licence from Rosnedra, the concerned government agency there. The fields are to be sold via government auction on December 2. The sale would fetch Russia about $2 to 3 bn.
