Re-tendering may be needed for Metro III

After the nine consortia that have bid for the 33.5 km Colaba-Bandra-Seepz metro corridor put in bids that are much higher than what the Mumbai Metro Rail Corporation (MMRC) had estimated, the project could face a major re-tendering, if the negotiations on pricing between MMRC and the consortia fail.The civil construction of the project, estimated to cost Rs 23,136 crore, is around Rs 13,882 crore or 60 per cent of the total cost.
