The state-run KIOCL and Steel Authority of India (SAIL) plan to jointly set up a coke oven plant in Mangalore, Karnataka. Both the companies are expected to begin ground work for the project in the next few months after signing an equal JV agreement. The proposed coke oven plant is expected to have a capacity of 3 lakh tonne a year. The agreement will also include setting up of a 25 MW power plant and the investment on both the projects will be around Rs 500 crore.
