SMC's Rs 28 cr flyover project faces delay

Surat Municipal Corporation’s (SMC) Rs 28 crore Sardar Bridge-Gujarat Gas Circle flyover project has been delayed and may now be completed by September 5, 2012. The project – Adajan flyover bridge – was originally scheduled to complete by June 2011. However, the contractor failed to meet the deadline after facing many hurdles like shifting of drainage, water and other underground service lines in the entire stretch. The 1,339 m long flyover bridge was planned to ease the traffic flow in Adajan, especially near the Gujarat Gas Circle.
