The Maharashtra Government has given an in-principle approval for the ambitious Rs 5,600 crore Dharavi revamp project in Mumbai. The state government approved the plan after incorporating several of the nearly 755 suggestions and objections that the government had received since it was put on public notice. The approved plan will now be sent to the State Slum Rehabilitation Authority and the State Urban Development Department for final approval. Bids are expected to be open by October.
