State clears Indira Sagar project

The state government has issued an order for clearing nearly 3,725 hectare of forest land for construction of the Indira Sagar (Polavaram) Multipurpose Project across the river Godavari. The land includes 3,731 hectare of notified forest area and 258 hectare of deemed forest land. The project includes creation of a 960 MW of power generation capacity.
