State urges gas allocation for power project in Telangana
The state has urged the Union Petroleum Ministry to allocate natural gas to the 2,100 MW gas-based power project in Karimnagar district in Telangana region. APGENCO has taken up 2,100 MW combined cycle gas based power plant in Karimnagar through a Special Purpose Vehicle. All the project related activities including land acquisition have been completed. But agreement to source 9.72 mmscmd of natural gas from Reliance Industries could not be entered into due to lack of allocation of gas by union government.
