Hotel plans lined up in India

A host of companies including Hong Kong’s Langham Hotels International (LHI), Thailand’s Amari Group, Oakwood Worldwide, Carlson Hotel Worldwide and InterContinental Hotels Group are expected to unveil new developments in India. Carlson signed a MoU with Pioneer Urban Land and Infrastructure to manage a 160-key five-star deluxe hotel under Regent brand. The hotel would come up in Gurgaon at an investment of Rs 230 crore by 2013. Lavasa Corp has signed four management contracts for upcoming hotels at the Lavasa lake-city project in Pune. These include Oakwood Residence, IHG’s Holiday Inn and LHI’s two brands - Langham Place and Eaton Hotels. Lavasa is expected to add about 700 guestrooms to its present inventory of over 100 hotel rooms and serviced apartments between ITC Select Dasve and The Waterfront Shaw, which could cost over Rs 300 crore. The Oakwood property in Lavasa is a 150-unit serviced apartment under the Oakwood Residence, brand which is scheduled to launch by the third quarter of 2012.
