JNNURM clears Rs 27 cr for Surat slum projects

JNNURM has approved two projects of Surat Municipal Corporation (SMC); one of these deals with slum redevelopment, whereas the second involves, upgradation of physical infrastructure at two of the already under operation projects. The combined cost of both projects is pegged at Rs 27 crore. SMC had prepared a detailed project report (DPR) for the redevelopment of two slums in Adajan area and on LP Savani Road, where it plans to construct 544 homes at a cost of Rs 17 crore.Under the second project, upgradation of infrastructure will take place in the EWS housing colonies of Kosad and Bhestan.Contact: Jawaharlal Nehru National Urban Renewal Mission.Website: www.jnnurm.nic.in
