One lakh flats for weaker sections in Delhi

The Delhi Development Authority (DDA) has announced its plans to make one lakh flats available for the economically weaker sections and lower income groups in the next three years. The authority also announced the building of 53 community halls across the capital. On the housing front, work on over 20,000 houses for Economically Weaker Sections (EWS) by using prefab technology has already been taken up and construction of 24,000 flats for Lower Income Groups (LIG) will start shortly. In all, over one lakh EWS and LIG flats are expected to be completed in the next three years.
