Govt buys land for airport project

The Uttar Pradesh Government has acquired about 250 acre for the Kushinagar International Airport Project. Conceived in 2008, the project is a part of integrated development of Buddhist Circuit in the eastern region of the state. The state paid the farmers Rs 945-1,075 per sq m for the land. It would approach Union Ministry of Economic Affairs to get a Viability Gap Funding up to Rs 70 crore for the project.
