AAI to develop Bihta airport for international operations

Airports Authority of India plans to develop the Indian Air Force airport at Bihta in Bihar, for international operations. AAI has requested for an additional 600 acre for the first phase of the project and 790 acre for the second phase in lieu of existing Patna airport. Besides, AAI has prepared master plans for development of Raxaul and Muzaffarpur airstrips in Bihar. In this regard, it has requested the state government to provide additional land, removal of obstructions and diversion of road in the approach funnel.
