AAI to handle Mizoram's state-owned airport

Instead of the Mizoram government, the Lengpui Airport will now be managed by the Airports Authority of India. The airport, inaugurated in December 1998, has become old and required huge expenses for repair and renovation and the state government will benefit from the change in management, which will include maintenance, upkeep, functioning and security of the airport.
