ADB may lend 9 bn for road projects

The Asian Development Bank (ADB) is expected to lend over Rs 900 crore to upgrade around 433 km of roads in the North Eastern states. The centre has planned to improve key road network in the region at an estimated cost of Rs 1,353 crore out of which Rs 908 crore will be provided by ADB.

The scheme will cover 137.6 km of road in Assam, 93.2 km of road in Manipur, 93.4 km in Meghalaya, 55 km in Mizoram, 34.2 km in Sikkim and 20.3 km of road in Tripura.
