Airport projects incomplete

Problems in land acquisition, financing issues and lack of clear guidelines to resolve stalemates are some of the hurdles that the government is facing in developing and modernising airports in 35 cities other than the four metros.While the modernisation programme of the Chennai and Kolkata airports is incomplete, in the 35 cities, the process started in April 2008 with the government calling for bids for modernising the Udaipur and Amritsar airports, which was then scrapped.
