Karnataka has decided to hike the user development fee (UDF) for the Kempegowda International Airport Ltd (KIAL). The increase is about Rs 25 to Rs 30. The hike follows an agreement arrived at by the Bangalore International Airport Ltd (BIAL), the state government and the Airport Regulatory Authority. The state Cabinet had last year allowed the BIAL to increase UDF to bring it on par with the Hyderabad airport; raising it from Rs 231 to Rs 430 for domestic passengers and from Rs 952 to Rs 1,700 for international travellers.
