BMRCL to meet December 2010 deadline

The Bengaluru Metro Rail Corporation (BMRCL) will meet the December 2010 deadline to commission Phase-I of the project running from Baiyappanahalli to Chinnaswamy Cricket stadium. The phase-I is yet to get clearance from the Commissioner for Railway Safety and the tracks need to be tested by October-November. The 42.3 km Phase-1 of the project is being implemented at a cost of Rs 11,000 crore by the centre and state governments, both being equity partners in the project.
