CCI approves Southern Railway electrification project

The electrification of the Shoranur-Mangalore-Penambur section of Southern Railway has been approved by Cabinet Committee on Infrastructure (CCI) at a total cost of Rs 302.5 crore. The project will be executed by Central Organisation for Railway Electrification, Allahabad in five years. The cost allocation is Rs 45.38 crore in Eleventh Plan and Rs 257.12 crore in Twelfth Plan.
