CPI calls for setting up port

The CPI, along with other like-minded parties and non-governmental organisations, will take up a sustained campaign seeking establishment of a public sector port at Ramayapatnam in Prakasam district.The prospects of locating the second major port at Ramayapatnam brightened after multinational engineering firm Aecom found a major port at Dugarajapatnam financially and technically unviable. Dugarajapatnam was also close to the satellite launching station at Sriharikota and Pulicat Lake, a haven for migratory birds.
