Recently, the Shipping Ministry published new guidelines for Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), focussing on promoting accountability for the impact of port activities. The commitment to CSR is beyond statutory requirements and therefore, linked with the practice of sustainable development. Thus, the ministry recommends CSR projects to be linked to the United Nations Global Impact Programme on environment and with sustainable development.based on the immediate and long term social and environmental consequences of their activities.
