The 28-year-old Okhla barrage, which is a vital link between Delhi and Noida, has been closed for repairs since December. The project will be executed for two months as the UP Irrigation Department is expected to restore the old bridge. This move was followed after an inspection earlier this year that revealed how susceptible it was to a mishap. It will be executed in phases with one carriageway closed at a time for a month each while one way traffic movement will be allowed on the other side.
