GMR drops out of race for NM airport project
GMR Infrastructure, the flagship company of the infrastructure conglomerate GMR Group that runs four airports across the globe, including two in India at Delhi and Hyderabad, is not keen on bidding for the Navi Mumbai airport. Navi Mumbai airport is the second international airport proposed in Mumbai as Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport (now being operated by the GVK group) is fast reaching saturation level. It is considered the largest Greenfield airport project in India since the airports sector was thrown open to the private sector in 2006.
