Govt clears bulk terminal plan for Kandla Port
The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs cleared the proposal of Kandla Port Trust to develop a separate dry bulk terminal at an estimated cost of Rs 1,060 crore on a build-operate-transfer (BOT) basis.
The project envisages the construction, operation and maintenance of an offshore berthing structure with four berthing faces by a single BOT operator for a license period of 30 years. The capacity of the project is 14.112 mtpa for four vessels at a time. The implementation needs to be completed within 24 months from the date of awarding the concession.
