Indian Railways to invest Rs.9,800 cr in Mumbai-Ahmedabad bullet train project

Indian Railways has announced that it will invest Rs 9,800 crore in the bullet train project in the Mumbai-Ahmedabad corridor. The train will operate at a speed of 300 to 350 kmph. Japan Investment Co-operation Agency (JICA) will provide 81 per cent of the investment as loan at an interest rate of 0.1 per cent. The loan will be spread across 50 years and have a moratorium of 15 years.
