Kandla handles 82.5 mn tonne cargo in 2011-12

Kandla Port Trust (KPT) registered a throughput of 82.5 mn tonne in 2011-12. The port was recently adjudged as 'Major Port of the Year for 2011-12' at the Third All-India Maritime and Logistics Awards 2012. With this, the port aims to emerge as a vibrant, world class, multi-cargo one offering services at multiple locations and having a dominant share of regional cargo. It intends to be a driver of economic growth in the region by leveraging its locations and land resources for facilitating the growth of economic activities and investments.
