Maharashtra government is all set to convert the present airstrip in Karad into a '2B runway' to handle midsize aircrafts. At present, the airstrip in Satara district can only handle small charter aircrafts, which must operate in the day. AAI had submitted its technical feasibility report to the Maharashtra Airports Development Company for examination, which in turn handed it over to the government for a final nod.
