Key link project of Kolkata Metro delayed

Failure of Kolkata Metro authorities to take physical possession of the required land has delayed the Rs 2,619 crore Joka-BBD Bag metro link project. The project requires a 4,000 sq m patch owned by Kolkata Port Trust near Taratala. This land is partly possessed by an NGO-run rehabilitation centre for the disabled and an old-age home. The 16.75 km Joka-BBD Bag metro link will connect the Indian Institute of Management in the south to the central business district of the city.
