Local firms to get first rail supply contract

<div>India will award its first global rail supplies contract to local firms, refusing major foreign bidders, to promote domestic manufacturing. State-owned Steel Authority of India will provide 80 per cent of the 487,000 tonne of rails sought in the railways tender. The remaining will come from Jindal Steel and Power. </div>
