MPSEZ to infuse Rs 6,000 cr for expansion

Mundra Port and SEZ (MPSEZ), belonging to Adani Group, will infuse Rs 6,000 crore over the next three to five years for port upgradation. It has set a target of 200 mtpa of cargo handling capacity by 2020. At present, the Kandla Port, near Mundra in Kutch district, is India’s top port as it handled 80 mn tonne cargo in 2009-10.

MPSEZ plans to focus on development of Mormugao, Dahej and Hazira ports. Besides, it will develop its first international greenfield project at Dudgeon point in Australia and further acquire the state-owned Port of Brisbane in the country. MPSEZ also plans to look forward for opportunities in South Africa for port development.
